Naked On God’s Doorstep is a personal narrative of the life of the author, Marion Duckworth. The author begins her journey as a child who has a mentally ill father. She recollects the painstaking memory of her father institutionalization and the effect it had on her life. As a child she developed severe insecurities that stemmed from her conclusion that she had been an unworthy candidate of her father’s love and the reason for his abandonment. Marion had grown weary of moving from bad to worse. Sometimes she and her mother had to depend on the kindness of others for their basic necessities. One Christmas Marion had to choose between a Christmas tree or Christmas dinner. Before
Marion lost her mother they had become regular members of a local church. However with her mother gone and her father hospitalized she had been left to life’s challenges without parental guidance. She felt alone more now than ever.

She eventually met her husband and had two sons. She and her husband became heavily involved in the missionary ministry. She grew in God’s grace as she studied the word of God in a different light throughout the years. The word of God mended the brokenness of her contrite spirit. Her heart had been healed of the wounds from her past. She found safety in God and had been freed from the fear that had held her captive for so long. With her new found freedom in Christ she began to minister to other hurting women. She shared the word of God through her story of hope.

Today Marion Duckworth is a speaker, Bible teacher, lay counselor, and award-winning writer. She has written over fifteen books and hundreds of articles. She is a living testimony of the sufficiency of God’s grace and an encouragement for hurting women.Naked on God’s Doorstep is window into the life of a broken child who turned out to be a remarkable woman of God.
