Mesi – A Girl ‘n Grace in Africa
Mesi (pronounced Maycee) is book #2 in the Girlls N Grace series. She is an outgoing girl growing up in Africa. She has a big brother named Kojo, who works in the cocoa field with their father. Mesi also has a little sister. Her name is Jamilah, who is too young to work but she is curious about everything.
Mesi desires to go to school but her family cannot afford for her to go. When her family goes through rough times, she feels like the only person she can talk to is her doll named Toolie. Eventually she starts to feel down and discouraged and her faith in God slowly begins to deteriorate. However, just as she is ready to throw in the towel; God makes a way and things don’t seem as bad anymore.
Mesi discovers that she has a wonderful talent that God has given her, the gift of sowing. She uses her gift of sowing to raise the money necessary for her to attend school. It’s exciting for Mesi as she realizes that she can finally go to school and fulfill her dream of becoming a teacher. Reading this book will give you lots of hope and excitement as Mesi finds a thing called Grace.
