Holy Fools
Pastor Matt Woodley didn’t set out on his spiritual journey with the intention of becoming a fool. He was comfortable, respectable, and to be honest, nice. But somewhere along the way he realized that his life – and his faith – wasn’t all he wanted it to be. And it certainly wasn’t all that God wanted it to be either.
So without entirely knowing where he was going he embarked on an ancient path of holy folly, in the footsteps of a motley group of God followers. From the desert Christians of the fourth century to contemporary “fools” for Christ, he encountered men and women whose unconventional and settling faith was enough to jar him out of spiritual complacency.
Get ready to meet the holy fools. They’ll provoke you, disrupt you, challenge you, and at times make you laugh. But the one luxuary they won’t afford you is to sit on your chair unchanged.
