Talks Your Dad Never Had With You
This is an extraordinary collection of intimate conversations that fathers should have with their daughters. The book is written in first person, allowing the reader to feel as though each literary encounter is written specifically for them.
Each chapter is based on a specific topic related to girlish situations, and how a loving godly father would respond. At the end of each chapter there is a “Think About It” section that allows you to focus on your life and how to apply what you’ve learned. I love that all the chapters are laced with scripture and embroidered with the word of God! That’s what gives the truth written on the pages its power.
Growing up without a father, I can relate to the feelings of inadequacy and neglect. And though I appreciate my mother and all the sacrifices that she made as a single parent, no matter how hard she tried, she could not be my father. Children need mothers as well as fathers. Fathers protect while mothers nurture. Yes, mothers can protect…but not the way a father can – and visa versa.
This book brought tears to my eyes as my mind wondered back to the years of my youth. My heart ached at how I could have been spared many hurts in life if I had a father who simply taken the time to talk with me. Although I am an adult now, married with children of my own, I am grateful to God that he has spared my children from the fatherless childhood that I experienced.
A heartfelt necessity for girls/women of all ages whose fathers are MIA. These are Talks Your Dad Never Had With You…indeed.
