In the everyday stretch and squeeze of motherhood, Tricia Goyer often feels smooshed by the demands of life. In Blue Like Play Dough, she shares her unlikely journey from rebellious, pregnant teen to busy wife and mom with big dreams of her own. As her story unfolds, Tricia realizes that God has more in store for her than she has ever imagined possible.

Sure, life is messy and beset by doubts. But God keeps showing up in the most unlikely places–in a bowl of carrot soup, the umpteenth reading of Goodnight Moon, a woe-is me teen drama, or play dough in the hands of a child.

In Tricia’s transparent account, you’ll find understanding, laughter, and strength for your own story. And in the daily push and pull, you’ll learn to recognizes the loving hands of God at work in your life… and know He has something beautiful in mind.

Jessie Stone has spent thirty-five years fantasizing about marriage proposals, wedding dresses, and falling in love. She’s been a bridesmaid eleven times, waved dozens of couples off to sunny honeymoons, and shopped in more department stores for half-price fondue pots than she cares to remember.

But shopping in the love-of-her-life department hasn’t been quite as productive. The man she thought she would marry cheated on her. The crush she has on her best friend Blake is at very best…well, crushing. And speed dating has only churned out memorable horror stories.

So when God shows up one day, in the flesh, and becomes a walking, talking part of her life, Jessie is skeptical. What will it take to convince her that God has a better love story than one of the thousands she’s cooked up in her journals? Will she trust Him with her pen when it appears her dreams of being the bride are forever lost?

A romantic comedy with a spiritual twist, Never the Bride is what it means to lose control—and getting more than any woman could ever imagine.

This is an extraordinary collection of intimate conversations that fathers should have with their daughters. The book is written in first person, allowing the reader to feel as though each literary encounter is written specifically for them.

Each chapter is based on a specific topic related to girlish situations, and how a loving godly father would respond. At the end of each chapter there is a “Think About It” section that allows you to focus on your life and how to apply what you’ve learned. I love that all the chapters are laced with scripture and embroidered with the word of God! That’s what gives the truth written on the pages its power.

Growing up without a father, I can relate to the feelings of inadequacy and neglect. And though I appreciate my mother and all the sacrifices that she made as a single parent, no matter how hard she tried, she could not be my father. Children need mothers as well as fathers. Fathers protect while mothers nurture. Yes, mothers can protect…but not the way a father can – and visa versa.

This book brought tears to my eyes as my mind wondered back to the years of my youth. My heart ached at how I could have been spared many hurts in life if I had a father who simply taken the time to talk with me. Although I am an adult now, married with children of my own, I am grateful to God that he has spared my children from the fatherless childhood that I experienced.

A heartfelt necessity for girls/women of all ages whose fathers are MIA. These are Talks Your Dad Never Had With You…indeed.

Dr. Harold D. Davis is the executive director of TALKS Mentoring Ministry in Champaign, Illinois, and is the author of numerous titles, including Can I Call You Soldier?

Torn between his Mennonite roots on the Kansas Prairie and his love for the big city of Boston, as well as his affection for a girl from each location, Thomas doesn’t know which path he is meant to take. He has always sought God’s help with his decision-making, but now it seems Heaven is staying stubbornly silent. What will Thomas choose? Will the desires of his heart lead him away from his Mennonite upbringing?
