I had the opportunity to interview the author of A Different Dream for My Child, Jolene Philo. Jolene and I shared memories, struggles, and tears in this heartfelt interview, that seemed more like a conversation between friends.
She is a breath of fresh air to parents who have chronically or critically ill children. Jolene has experienced first hand the pangs of caring for a child who has serious medical needs. Who better to reach out to parents and offer encouragement and hope than a mother who has wept as the diagnosis of her child’s condition penetrated her heart.
The resources, inspiration, and comfort available within the pages of this book left me with only one thought…my family and I needed this book when we were faced with the uncertainties of the uncharted territory of our special needs baby. What a great tool for parents who are in similar situations.
Many thank you’s to Jolene for having the courage to write this book that will shine light on the dark and scary place of parenting a special needs child.
Listen in as Jolene shares her story.
