Post a comment below for your chance to win a FREE copy!

A collection of wise, compelling, and often uproariously funny essays built around the experience of music as a transformational element in a moment of truth, Hear No Evil mines Matthew Paul Turner’s humorous memories of his evangelical youth and invites readers to groove along on his journey.

From attending forbidden contemporary Christian concerts to moving to “Music City” Nashville, Hear No Evil chronicles Turner’s “life soundtrack” which morphs seamlessly into the stories of people, places, and experiences that have taught the music-editor-turned-author some new things about God, forced him out of his comfort zone, and introduced him to a fresh view of grace along the way.

If you’ve ever had the opening bars of a song transport you back in time or remind you of a pivotal spiritual moment, Matthew Paul Turner’s honest—and frequently hilarious—musings will strike a chord. Straight forward and amusing, Hear No Evil is an exploration of a life of faith lived to a personal soundtrack.

I’m Tory Tyson, but you can call me Terror Tory because I bring terror to all producers and DJs. I’m from the hood side of Mount Vernon, which is right next to Bronx. I’m fifteen and I already met my future wife. I just have to get her to see it that way.

Did I mention that my beats and turntable skills are sick? This summer I’ll be spinning at a block party in my neighborhood on Friday nights. You should come through. It’s going to be hot (pun intended)

Me and my partner Fat Mike are going to enter the Unsigned Hype demo contest on New York’s Power 97, “the nation’s number one station.” If we win, my whole life will change.

But there’s always somebody hatin’. I’m trying to stay focused, but every day it’s different drama. Man, I just want to make it.

I had the awesome opportunity to interview Donnie McClurkin! Nervous is a gross understatement for the queasiness I felt at the beginning of the interview. However, Donnie put me at ease with his light-heartedness and sense of humor.

We discussed his new CD – We All Are One (Live In Detroit). This is an awesome CD that I can’t encourage you enough to go out and grab yourself a copy! My favorite song is “Wait on the Lord.” It’s a song of worship, that compels patience in God while going through rough times, it features Karen Clark. To hear samples of each song on the CD visit www.DonnieMcClurkin.com.

His CD is one among many other things we discussed such as a book he is working on, his involvement with Feed the Children, and acting.

This is one interview that I won’t soon forget!
